Reading the headlines this week, the double tragedy that ended with Bobby Kristina Brown’s death at 22 years of age caused me and so many others to grieve the loss of two lives with so much potential and gifts. Bobby Kristina Brown is the only daughter of Whitney Houston and the rapper Bobby Brown.The loss of her mother just three years ago, Kristina began the slow decline into crippling grief that led her into more and more darkness and emptiness. Immediately she was forced into the spotlight at a time where coping with the loss of her mother through drug use and poor decision making made it impossible to cope. In her desperation she turned to her half-brother/fiance who perpetuated her issues by participating and enabling her self destruction. Anyone who has ever experienced loss understands that the first three years afterward are days where you just survive. You aren’t living a life of conscious choice and decision …the pain is too great.
Jesus was so moved by the grief He found when He came to the place where Lazarus had been buried that the Scripture said …Jesus wept.John 11:35 Jesus knew all along that the Lord would resurrect Lazarus so it wasn’t that Jesus grieved Lazarus’ death but that seeing the pain and agony of loss moved Him greatly. These words are profound for they confirm that our Lord feels and understands pain through grief and those who experience it. In this instance, the tears turned to rejoicing as Jesus prayed and the Lord restored life back to Lazarus. A miracle that brought glory to His Father. However, later on Lazarus did meet death,a final time and so will we, unless we are resurrected beforehand through the return of Christ. Grief is a fact of life but can be crippling if not taken to the Lord.
Bobby Kristina Brown despite being incredibly wealthy and surrounded by loving members of her family was not strong enough to find her way out of her despair so she did what her parents taught her, years previously, used drugs and alcohol to drown her sadness. Even though her extended family are strongly rooted in church, the model her parents exhibited was far greater than the words they spoke. Whitney began her singing career in church but what the world will remember sadly, is how her story ended.The path to Bobby Kristina’s final moments were established by the very ones who she loved and trusted most. Their poor decisions led to the loss of a young adult who had so much ahead of her. Toxic life choices led to her death and that of her world famous mother. There is speculation about Kristina’s fiance being abusive, and if true, would have further added to her spiral. At her weakest moments she was surrounded by predators only too glad to help her escape and eventually death.
At the heart of this message is that grief is incredibly debilitating and if you or others around you are affected you need love and understanding. Find a church and others trained in grief counseling. Cling to the Lord and the Word of God as never before. Resist the temptation to do things that will only complicate your life and family. Fifty percent of who I minister to are facing some sort of severe grief that they are transitioning out of. When I faced loss that I could not get past I sought help,but it wasn’t there. It took the Lord – and Him alone… along with an understanding doctor to guide me through …the valley of the shadow of death. Now I minister from the place that was my darkest moments. I pray that this message will prevent future heartaches and heartbreaks. If you know someone that is in the place of severe grief, lovingly intervene and guide them to Jesus …One who is truly touched by our tears and can bring the comfort of heaven on earth to heal their pain so they can leave the valley of the shadow of death…In Jesus Name

SWING THE SWORD
People get ready…we are living in the day and time that Jesus spoke about,nearing the day of His soon appearing. The very earth is groaning with sounds and movements never seen before. Rumors of wars and divisions are producing rippling affects that is felt by everyone across the world.Things in the sky are appearing and displaying sights rarely seen before in a small capsule of time. Sin is so rampant that if your lifestyle is modeling the life of Jesus,you are labeled as radical and a zealot. Media is warning Christians that speaking about and stating you are Christian will be attacked agressively. The norm of life is sliding further and further into the abyss of sin and shaking their fist at those who dare to live differently by serving the One and true God.
NOW is the time to learn the Word of God and to speak it out as we frame our world with our faith filled words. What do you do in the face of terrible sin and those who are pushing you to do likewise? Swing your sword by quoting the Word to back up those consumed in sin. Memorize it within your family and teach your children. It was in my early years that I learned a great deal of the Word that I learned to speak out quickly when confronted or in witnessing. I am exhorting new believers to spending time in memorizing the Word as an urgency in my spirit is telling me that when attacked we may not have time to look it up in the Bible in the days ahead. I had a dream a few months ago where the darts of the enemy was shooting semi-automatic weaponry. Could you speak the Word that quickly? Even veterans of the Word must be diligent in the stepped up warfare coming. The Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee…Psalm 199:11 It is the Word that Jesus spoke in the desert to satan. when tempted. If it’s what Jesus used in direct confrontation with evil then it is a must for you and I.
Recently a family that just recently came into the Body of Christ began facing great warfare. The mother raising her children to follow Christ was alarmed at traps being set around them. I advised her to memorize scripture by making it a game. Yet life was busy and she didn’t follow through. The warfare continued so after three times of giving her the same advice …I asked how the memorizing was going? She responded I am reading the Word but it’s not sticking to my memory. This mother has a college degree so I asked her what kind of effort did you use to get your degree? She said a lot. I then said this will require effort and making it a priority, just like what you put forth for your education.
There are more resources than ever before to study the Word and to let the Word bury deep into our hearts and lives. Yet with all the distractions of entertainment and work many find that their time is eaten up with activities that will not add one bit of value to their life. Jesus said…Man can’t live on bread alone but by every Word that proceedeth.out of the Word of God. Mathew 4:4 In the days you and your family face presently …can you really afford not to give priority to the Word? If you will tithe time out of your day daily to the Lord God will bless your committment. I challenge you to focus on the Word of God like never before and see your inner man fill up with boldness strength, courage and more!! …In Jesus Name

A BETTER PLACE
From the time man was created the Lord blessed us to move forward on the earth with freedom, responsibility, and authority. We were given everything on this planet as caretakers of the gift of life on earth. Seeing where we are presently makes it abundantly clear that we have neglected to preserve our environment and have abused our freedoms. Each of us are put here with purpose and design to use our God given talents and abilities to further the cause God intended. Freedom to choose has created a society who feel entitled and consumed by pleasures to feed their flesh. Yet God will not reverse what He said in the beginning at the time of creation. He will let each man decide and determine his fate.
If we could grasp how valuable and necessary we are to God’s plan we would stop our self destructive habits singly and jointly. We need fresh eyes to see the world through our Father’s eyes.Are our lives reflecting the love and care of our sphere of influence? Is our present place better for our being in it? If the Lord took you home today, would there be proof left behind that you used your freedom to walk in your God given authority by being responsible for what He entrusted to you? The answer to that question is what will determine whether we have been successful in our calling.
When I graduated from high school and looked ahead to my future I purposed to have been a blessing to one other person in my life. Then it advanced to being a blessing to as many people as I could be. I am still pursuing this quest at the present time and years later. I urge each of us to seek God as to why you are here and find your purpose and destiny. When it’s all said and done, it will be the only satisfying thing that will last once our days on earth are finished. Is the world a better place because you were born? May the answer for each of us be yes. Hearing well done thy good and faithful servant will make the cost of our call worth it in the end…In Jesus Name

In a college class a student was being taught the Big Bang theory as the foundation of all human existence along with the theory of man’s evolution from that of an ape. This was a basic core Science class needed in order to specialize later for a degree. The student was a Christian and had been since early in life and knew what the Bible taught in relation to creation and the Creator. There wasn’t a debate at that moment because the student sensed that the professor would have enjoyed the platform to inflict his views on all within his sphere of influence in the room. The student said not a word until the test and when asked how was the earth created …wrote God spoke the Word and at His Word all of life and space as we know it was created as it says in the Bible in Genesis. The student knew that this would not be satisfactory and took the C for the one wrong answer as a result. However, the student never regretted one word nor debated the grade.This is not a scene from GOD’S NOT DEAD the movie but rather the life of one born again believer …and the student in that classroom that day was me.
I read a troubling report recently that Christian college students will be facing a different but even more agressive attack in colleges across the nation,as a result of the times and changes to the laws. They will face open hostility and peer groups angrily attacking them verbally, in response to their faith. There will be a more tolerated bullying that we have never seen before and the world will turn a blind eye. Yet, these believers will be filled with boldness and truth as the Lord moves among them. They will be filled with the boldness of the Holy Spirit to not back up or shut up. The wisdom and leadership of Joshua will lead them as they become an arsenal taking their stand for the Lord and their faith. It is not easy to be the minority but the world has forever been changed by One who gave His life unto death …and Jesus’ example will show our future generation the way,no matter how hot the heat.
Ministers, churches, and church members please pray for those who are going back to school with specific prayer now and throughout the year. Set up prayer circles to meet and pray for the schools,teachers and colleges across the nation, and especially those that are Christians. I was the facilitator for prayer for my school over 10 years and stood in the gap weekly with other believers for our campus. I organized parent prayer groups to intercede and pray as well.I led prayer around the pole on National Prayer Day. If you can’t find a group for your school or church get a hold of me. I have warriors ready to pray to lift you and your children up anytime.

KEEPING FAITH HOT
After a conversation with a dear friend yesterday I was troubled by a comment that was made. This is someone who in better moments is one of the most caring and concerned individuals that I know. After 24 plus years of friendship I know that she lives her life to lift up and encourage others through teaching and through her church. But recently, not unlike others including myself, she has been weighed down with life. As I was sharing issues concerning our country and world …she said, “I can’t handle hearing about all that right now. It’s all I can do to just manage my home and family right now.” I didn’t pursue anymore after that . But it got me to thinking that there is a growing tiredness in those who are generally passionate and on fire. I encouraged my friend by saying I would pray with her regarding the things weighing her down. Yet I knew that I needed to lift her up as she is very faithful to be there for me and others generally. She needed me to help lift her up by words of faith and hope.
The Lord Jesus said that we need to come together as a Body regularly especially as the last days approach.Heb.10:25 We must help one another and pray for each other because we are still in the race. The fire has been turned up but through standing strong together we can overcome all things through Christ. The enemy is after those of us still on the firing line. So we must speak the Word over ourselves and each other so that the Lord can use the Word to turn our circumstances around.
I also know that the great falling away and out of the church has started. I would encourage you to find a faith filled Word- driven Church to be a part of. If the enemy can get you alone and seperate you from other believers- he will move in for the kill. He wants to defeat your faith and break your spirit so that we fall further and further into despair. Those of us still pressing forward need to bear one another’s burdens and if we are having a good day …be there for a brother or sister who is not. Gal.6:2 We must be other minded not just for the sinners, but for each other as believers. It is like a drop of water in the desert to find others who have the gift of encouragement. It can make the difference between advancing or giving up in some cases. We must be the Light for the lost but also allow our Light to warm the flames of one whose faith may be dwindling. Can I get a witness?
We all have different gifts and talents and so if you don’t necessarily flow in encouragement then introduce them to one who does. But by all means don’t leave them there in their brokenness. Ministers are the shepherd that leads the flock but in the days ahead the members of the Body must get involved with one another in showing and being a vessel of love and concern. It will take selflessness instead of selfishness but if someone was there for you at just the right time then pay it forward by helping someone else. It’s the best medicine for getting out of yourself and letting Jesus take the wheel!…In Jesus Name

PASSION AND PRAYER
Having grown up in church most of my life I have observed much that shapes who I am today. I was especially drawn to those whose lives were reflective of the love of Christ while completely captivated by their relationship with the Lord. I saw the fruit in their lives and when around them they exuded the peace and contentment of their faith. Their prayer life was reflective of this passion birthed in daily relationship with the Lord. Passionate faith and prayer is what creates the opportunity for miracles. Elijah exemplified this when he prayed to the Lord in heaven and God answered by burning up the water logged sacrifice Elijah prepared before the prophets of Baal. Elijah was passionate about his love for the Lord and it displayed itself through his faith driven prayers. God spectacularly answered as a result.
I have prayed for healing for those who the Lord took home. I have prayed prayers where God said no. In every prayer, we are to stand on the Word and faith. The outcome is always in the Lord’s hands and we must resolve ourselves to that.The Lord is sovereign in all things. Yet the Lord uses answered prayer as a way to touch lives and build as He receives the glory. This passage states that effectual and fervent prayer of one who is blood bought and standing in the righteousness given to us by the gift given to us by Jesus moves the heart of our Father. Synonyms for fervency is passion and enthusiasm. They are key to answered prayer. Hannah was so passionate about her prayer for a child that she was perceived to be drunk and just babbling. I Sam.1 11-16 Yet not so to the Lord. He was moved to answer her prayer.Nothing is too difficult for the Lord as we read throughout the Bible. Passion combined with faith filled prayer is key to answers from heaven.
How is your passion and enthusiasm when you pray? How is your passion in reference to your life? I am a native Indian and as an Indian I am very quiet but not when talking about the Lord. I become full of energy and vitalized.If anything I have to rein myself in as I realize my passion can be overwhelming to others. Great love produces passion …as anyone who has ever fallen in love can tell you. I am completely and irretrievably in love with the Lord! I am not ashamed of the gospel or the One who set me free from a life of deadness and sin.I encourage you to think about this. If there is need to spark the flames of your passion for Christ…time with the Lord can restore it. One of the seven churches in Revelation is faulted because they lost their first love for the things of God.Rev.2:4 May you keep your love and enthusiasm burning hot in the days ahead. It will be needed to fight the good fight of faith in these last days…In Jesus Name

FIGHT FOR THE INNOCENT
School is just around the corner and with the changes in the law involving public schools,I am greatly concerned about the effect the Supreme Court decision will have on our future citizens who are going to be the first to experience the revolution of gender education. If you are a Christian parent you need to start praying now about how to protect and guard your child from the bias that will be propogated by
the government as tolerance. Start praying for the teachers who will be with your child for nine months out of the year. The only group who are not being tolerated is Christians. As an educator, I am watching as the views of Christianity is being swept to the side and the emphasis is placed on the extremist views. We need to pray for more Christian teachers to enter the field and especially the classroom. Teaching is the philosophy of teaching kids how to think …not what to think. However, the teacher moderates the climate in a classroom and should protect the views of each child while modeling principles of faith in action. I have impacted children by demonstrating unconditional love and acceptance. With the change of law you can now expect that those opposed to Christian views will aggressively enter the classrooms and they will push their biases on those too innocent and young to dispute them.
Parents, you need to get involved loudly in your child’s education. The school systems are getting away with so much now because parents generally are overwhelmed and too busy to stop and look closely at what is happening. You have the right to object to allowing views to be presented to your child that defy your belief system. Educators must comply. Visit the classes…meet the teachers. Weekly make a point of connecting with the teacher.Teachers will not risk perpetrating wrong values if they know you are ever alert. I am not saying that you need to be indiscriminately troublesome. But if there are conversations happening you are not comfortable with set up an appointment with the administration and the teacher. Most will accommodate the issues so that you can be assured that your child will receive the education you are paying for.
I will be monitoring all things education in the months ahead to make sure that the public can benefit and my hope is to empower parents and protect children. If you know a parent who may need the information, pass it on. May the Lord lead and guide us in the future so that our children may be in the world but not of the world…In Jesus Name

CONSIDER THE LILIES
With complete countries going bankrupt and numerous issues creating famine conditions affecting food globally the stress of providing for your family can be crippling if we don’t remember the words of Jesus. Centuries back the concern of feeding and providing was equally as troubling or Jesus would not have needed to instruct us about it. Studying the designs of creation and the careful structuring of each molecule of life,I am seeing how a very loving Father provided everything that we would ever need until eternity. When famine came to Egypt, the world’s wealthiest nation at that time, the Lord brought Joseph through supernatural Divine appointment to provide for Israel so that they would survive. The same God that we pray and serve is still watching every detail of your life and that of your family, so why do we spend so much time stressing over it? Jesus aptly answered us by stating that it is a faith problem.
Whenever I am trying to see things from the heavenly perspective I reflect about Jesus as it is written in the Bible. Jesus is never recorded as sick or ever discussing concern about His personal food or clothing needs for Himself or those who were with Him. When feeding the multitude,He blessed the fish and bread that miraculously fed them,with baskets left over. That is our Father-Jehovah Jireh…the God of more than enough.So if Jesus is THE model of how to live I need to lift my limited and poverty thinking to where Jesus and His faith lived. I must elevate my faith and challenge my lack mentality with the understanding of just how much we are given in abundance, every day. I know that I am not alone in the struggle to comprehend that the Lord needs us to understand His immense love for us. Because once you do …you are forever set free. The truth really does set you free and he who is free is free indeed.
There was a period of time when working with very materialistic -more is better co-workers that were looking down on me for not having all the wealth they did. I was made to feel poor in their view. Troubled in heart and spirit the Lord spoke to my spirit revealing that the house I lived in then, if put in a third world setting, would be considered a castle and I would look like an extremely wealthy person in their eyes. It set me free from the more is better mindset and put me on a path of less is more lifestyle. Without it, I would not be where I am today-having left the accumulation of material wealth to pursue building the Kingdom of the Lord and treasure in heaven.
The Lord is calling us to a higher place of faith today. He is more than able to care for you. After all you were exquisitely and remarkably fashioned by His loving hands. Our Father knows what you need before you know you need it. It is my prayer,that many will be set free of day to day living struggles so that you can pursue the abundant life that Jesus said we could have if we will just have faith…In Jesus Name
